Kevin Farrugia was born on July 7, 1975. At 7 years of age, he started playing with Valletta FC. During that period, 1982, there was no nursery and each team was made up of different ages. For a short period between U12 and U13 he played for Hamrun Spartans. At 14 years of age he returned with Valletta FC. During U14, U16, U18 he won various championships and even individual honours. When he was 17 years old he made his appearances with the senior squad winning the League in 1991-1992 and Super 5 cup 1992-1993.
In 1993-1994 Kevin Farrugia joined Mqabba FC where he played for the whole season in the Premier Division.
In 1994-1995 he joined Pieta Hotspurs FC but were relegated to First Division for season 1995-1996 during which he won First Division League Championship. He remained in the Premier Division playing with Pieta Hotspurs FC till 2001.
During season 2001-2002 he formed part of the Sliema Wanderers squad winning the Super 5 Cup and placed second in Premier Division League.
After various seasons playing in the Premier Division, he joined Balzan Youths FC in First Division, winning the promotion to the Premier Division 2002-2003.
Between 2003 and 2005 he played for Marsa FC in First Division.
In 2005-2006 he joined Qormi in the Second Division and won the League Title thus gaining promotion to the First Division and won also the Knockout Trophy.
During his career, Kevin Farrugia also formed part of the U12, U14, U16, U18 and U21 National Teams. He made his appearance in 3 matches with the Senior National Squad.
