Valletta FC: present new technical staff

Valletta FC new technical staff

During a press conference held at the club’s premises, Valletta FC presented their new technical staff for next season.

The technical staff will be made up of Coach Jesmond Zerafa, assistant coach Leonard Farrugia and team manager Jesmond Zammit. Jesmond Zerafa led Qormi to the Championship pool last season while team manager Jesmond Zammit led Dingli Swallows to the Premier League last season.

Valletta president Victor Sciriha stated that Jesmond Zammit is currently in Gozo finalising the clubs’ preparation for a training camp in Gozo. Sciriha said that the committee has been working hard in view of the coming season and decided to change the technical staff for next season and definitely will not make mistakes like last season.

Club president Mr Victor Sciriha ended by thanking the club’s biggest sponsor, the Valletta Supporters Club, the main sponsor Giovanni Capitta, the previous team manager Nicky Saliba and also Jesmond Zerafa for accepting the offer to become the new coach.

Jesmond Zerafa said that he was delighted to return back with Valletta after eight years when he was assistant coach with Krassimir Manolov. Jesmond stated that accepting to become coach of Valletta meant that he is returning something to the club which give him a lot when he was a player.

new technical staffZerafa also said that Valletta intend to engage three or four foreign players and two local players for next season. If Njongo Priso leaves the club he could be replaced by Nigerian Omonige Temile, brother of star player Frank Temile, a Brazilian striker is also expected to join Valletta for trial next Monday.

Assistant coach Leonard Farrugia thanked the president and Jesmond Zerafa for offering him the post as an assistant coach. He said that he always hoped to return back to Valletta, the club that give him respect. Farrugia ended by saying that he is looking forward for next season and that the club’s main target could be achieved if the players, committee and supporters work close together.
