Jonathan Caruana born on July 24, 1986, started his career with Hibernians FC. He made his debut in the Premier League in season 2003-04 in a match against Marsaxlokk.

In season 2005-06, Caruana was on loan with Mosta FC and made 17 appearances. In season 2006-07, Jonathan returned with Hibernians, making 19 appearances for the Paolities.

In season 2007-08, Jonathan kept his place in the first team although Hibernians played in the Relegation Pool, he made 21 appearances for the club. He was also called to join the National squad in that season.

In the following season Caruana won his first honour in his career as Hibernians become Premier League champions, he made 26 appearances and also scored three goals. In season 2009-2010 he made his appearance in 24 matches.
