Today’s BOV Challenge League clash at the Victor Tedesco Stadium saw Valletta FC secure a dominant 3-0 victory over Fgura United in their first-ever meeting. Valletta took the lead in the 35th minute through Aidan Friggieri, who found the net after a well-timed offensive play, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Early in the second half, Jake Azzopardi doubled Valletta’s lead in the 53rd minute, taking advantage of a defensive lapse from Fgura. Valletta continued to control the pace, and while Fgura tried to rally, they struggled to break through Valletta’s solid backline.
The final minutes of the game saw intense action as two penalties were awarded to Valletta. Andrei Ciolacu missed the first in the 74th minute, failing to capitalise after a foul inside the box. Later, Enoch Mushagalusa also missed his opportunity to score in the 81st minute, following another foul in the penalty area. Despite these missed chances, Valletta remained in control and capped off the game with a 91st-minute goal from James Scicluna, sealing the 3-0 result.
