Day 27 Valletta 1 Floriana 1

Valletta vs Floriana

Valletta lost two precious points in this season’s title race when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Floriana.
Valletta have now slipped five points adrift of leaders Hibernians and must beat the Paolites if they are to get back into the title race.

The Citizens dominated much of the match and their efforts looked to have been rewarded nine minutes from time.

Michael Mifsud, who had replaced Romeo Romao, sped into the area, turned past two defenders before planting the ball past Justin Haber.

Floriana looked down and out but four minutes from time, Ryan Camenzuli profited from some hesitant defending by the City defence to beat Dziugas Barktus.

Here Floriana had goalkeeper Justin Haber dismissed for dissent.

But despite being a man down they held on to take a point.
