Despite Valletta’s failure to join Hibs and Gżira at the top of the standings, Doncic was still optimistic that his team could nullify the three-point gap from the pacesetters and go on and retain the league title. “Sometimes these results could be a blessing in disguise and I’m sure that it will only spur my players to step up their game when the championship continues in January,” Doncic said.
“There are only three points between us and our title rivals and hopefully the players will get a bit of rest and be ready for when the championship resumes next month.”
