Valletta Football Club Annual General Meeting 2025

Valletta Football Club Annual General meeting 2025

Valletta Football Club held its Annual General Meeting for 2025, on Sunday 18th May.

The meeting opened with a warm welcome by the Club’s Secretary, Kevin Bonello.
The Secretary presented the Administrative Report for the 2024–2025 term, outlining the club’s achievements and operations across all departments.
The President, on behalf of the Committee, recognised Noel Cachia for his 25 years of dedicated service to Valletta FC Supporters Club. Mr. Cachia expressed his heartfelt gratitude and affirmed his continued support to the club. Another presentation followed as Stephen De Battista, on behalf of the Committee, presented a framed picture of the President to Mr. Claudio Grech in appreciation of his leadership.

Following the closing of the vote, the Electoral Commission, chaired by Mr. Clint Axisa, announced the election results. Out of 205 votes cast, all were in favour of Claudio Grech, confirming him as President with 100% support. The announcement was met with a standing ovation from members.
In his address, President Claudio Grech expressed deep gratitude for the members’ trust and reiterated that the club’s greatest achievement was reuniting Valletta supporters under a common vision. He highlighted the significance of Valletta FC’s return to the Premier League, emphasising that the challenge faced in the Challenge League had only strengthened the club’s resolve.

President Grech praised the club’s modern legacy—14 championship titles and 9 FA Trophies—as a reminder of its resilience and excellence. He called for continued respect toward former administrations and acknowledged the tireless work of the current committee in rebuilding and modernizing the club.
He emphasized the importance of sustainability, member ownership, and financial prudence, referencing initiatives such as the V43 project aimed at ensuring long-term club independence. The President also outlined plans to invest in the youth academy, positioning it as a cornerstone for the club’s future, and revealed ongoing efforts to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.

Furthermore, he announced the establishment of a Supervisory Committee, to be led by Architect David Felice, focused on club governance, integrity, and anti-match-fixing policies.
The President concluded by thanking all the members of the Committee who worked, and those who continued to form part of the committee. He also thanked those who offered assistance. The club also plans to launch a new volunteer campaign to foster community involvement.
The meeting concluded with a moment of silence in memory of members who passed away.
