Valletta FC Members Approve New Club Management as Transformation Enters Next Phase

Valletta, 2 June 2024 – Valletta Football Club proudly announces that its new Club Committee and Management Team has been formally approved by the membership during today’s General Meeting, marking a pivotal step in the Club’s long-term transformation strategy.
The newly confirmed committee brings together a high-profile group of individuals with proven track records across business, sports, governance and community leadership. Their collective experience and calibre reflect the Club’s unwavering ambition to operate at the highest professional standard, both on and off the pitch.
Dr Manfred Galdes and Perit Ivan Piccinino join the Club’s Supervisory Committee which is chaired by Perit David Felice, setting out a new oversight framework aimed at strengthening the Club’s underlying values and ensuring its overall sustainability.
The core management of the Club has also been augmented by senior corporate figures Dr Andrew Bezzina, Mr Kurt Farrugia and Mr Robert Galea who will strengthen the commercial and digital positioning of the Club as it enters into its new phase of transformation. They join a team of another 59 individuals participating across the different functions operating on a daily basis within the club.
This significant development follows the recent re-election of Mr. Claudio Grech as Club President, who was entrusted with a renewed three-year mandate following an overwhelming vote of confidence by the members. In his address, Mr. Grech outlined the Club’s next strategic priorities and gave the first official indications of plans to strengthen the senior squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
While the Club has adopted a highly disciplined approach to recruitment, it was confirmed that intensive preparatory work has been ongoing for several months to build a squad that reflects Valletta FC’s vision of strength, athleticism and pride.
Additionally, the groundwork for the Club’s flagship youth development initiative is well underway. The Club’s NextGen programme will focus on nurturing high-potential players aged 14 and upwards, with the aim of developing the next generation of home-grown champions who will carry forward Valletta’s legacy and values.
With the new committee now in place, and a renewed sense of purpose driving every layer of the Club, Valletta FC stands firmly on the threshold of #TheNextStep in its path towards sporting excellence, financial sustainability, and community impact.
