Paul Zammit was born on 21st September 1969.  During his football career Paul played as a striker between 1990 to 2003 with Rabat Ajax, Hibernians, ─Žamrun Spartans and Mosta.

At the end of 2003 Paul retired as a player and joined Mosta F.C. as a coach. On November 2005  Paul Zammit signed a contract with Valletta F.C. as head coach following the resignation of J.J. Aqulina.

Paul won the Maltese Coach of the Season award during season 2007/2008 while leading Valletta to win the Championship after an absence of seven years. Valletta wrote another page in their history during January 2008, when under the guidance of Paul Zammit, the Citizens eliminated Italian giants Juventus during the final of the Bet Fair Cup.

Zammit renewed his contract for another two years with Valletta FC during season 2008. Valletta failed to win the Championship in 2009 and Zammit’s contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
Paul Zammit joined Birkirkara in 2009 and agreed terms with Birkirkara F.C. for two years, he was assisted by Branko Nisevic . Zammit succeeded in building up a squad with dedication and great team work. In his first year with the Stripes, Mr. Zammit did the unexpected, he managed to lead Birkirkara for their third Premier League title.

At the end of the 2010/11 season, Zammit’s contract was not renewed by the Birkirkara committee.

 Paul Zammit rejoined the Stripes four months after his contract was not renewed. He  led Birkirkara to win the fourth league in their history in season 2012/2013 season. In June 2013, Zammit was offered a new three-year deal

At the end of season 2014/2015, a few weeks after the Stripes won their fourth FA Trophy, Birkirkara FC committee and Mr. Paul Zammit reached an agreement to part ways.

During his coaching times with Birkirkara, Paul Zammit won two BOV Premier League titles, one FA Trophy and two BOV Super Cups.

Paul Zammit returned with Valletta for a second spell in June 2015, this was revealed during Valletta F.C.’s Annual General Meeting; the news of Zammit’s appointment with the club was greeted with a huge round of applause by the supporters present for the meeting.

Paul Zammit signed a three-year deal with Valletta FC in June 2015.
